I have lived amongst the dramatic scenery of the Peak District, the Cotswolds and now Devon. I am out in all weathers walking the dogs (if it is fine the family have been known to come too!) and I am lucky enough to see the countryside in all its guises, constantly being inspired by the fantastic scenery.

 

By using a number of felting and needle felting techniques I produce these landscapes, washing and carding wool from fleeces to use in parts of my designs. Felting combines colour and form to paint with wool and is a fascinating tactile and flexible way to create 3-D works. Each design is unique and captures the mood of the countryside in its many different aspects.

 

I was a further education teacher, working with disabled adults, for many years before leaving to bring up 3 wonderful daughters. I have always enjoyed a variety of craft activities and I have combined them with my love of art and landscapes to produce unique felted designs.
